New in 2014! The Cary Playwrights’ Forum will be offering two new playwriting classes thru the Town of Cary Parks and Recreation programs!
The first class – Living Stories: The Basics of Playwriting will explore the writer’s voice and teach participants how to create a compelling plot, interesting characters and great dialogue! This class will culminate in a Staged Reading of the participant’s work produced during this class. This class starts January 6th.
The second class – A Study of Sam Shepard’s True West will explore the writing style of Shepard and engage in discussions and in-class exercises. This class starts March 3rd.
Both classes are open to interested participants 18 years of age & up and will be taught by Jason Tyne-Zimmerman. Mr. Tyne-Zimmerman is Head of Theater at Long Leaf School of the Arts in Raleigh; founder of the Exquisite Corpse Festival, a omnimedia arts organization; a Teaching Artist at the Raleigh Little Theater; and serves on the Board of Directors of the Cary Playwrights’ Forum.
