Writer and Playwrights….
If you write, you (likely) have rights.
Come walk-through the process of registering your rights as we prepare and file live applications to register copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Who should attend:
This month’s session will help writers prepare and file an application to register their copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office. If you have any question about the session please contact Pam Chestek by email.
What we’ll do:
We’ll begin with a brief discussion of general principles you’ll need to understand in order to file an application to register your copyrights. Then local copyright lawyers Pam Chestak and Ed Timberlake will assist attendees, individually, as they fill out the online application for registration. So you will leave with not only one copyright application filed, but also the confidence to complete additional applications on your own, if needed.
What you’ll need to bring:
- A laptop with wifi (to complete the online application for registration).
- A credit card (to pay the U.S. Copyright Office filing fee of between $35 and $55).
- A copy (ideally, in digital form) of the work you’ve created (the rights to which you’d like to register).
