“Writers are the creative wellspring of theatre… write on!”
Private Table Reads
The Cary Playwrights’ Forum is hosting private table reads for new stage plays and musicals written by NC playwrights! If selected, your script will be read by Triangle-area artists in a round table setting.
What to Expect
Selective process. Scripts are selected for table reads based on the discretion and availability of The Cary Playwrights’ Forum producers.
No auditions. The Cary Playwrights’ Forum producers will find readers for the script. Part of the process is casting a mix of actors, directors, writers, and other creatives to provide varied perspectives on your script.
No rehearsals. Readers will be sent your script ahead of time, but the table read will be effectively a “cold reading.”
Live feedback. Readers will offer constructive criticism at the end of the table read.
Right to privacy. The table read will not be publicized by The Cary Playwrights Forum and will not be open to public viewing.
